Jerusalem is the fastest-growing travel destination in the world for 2018, and witnessed profitable tourism times, according to a new report by UK-based market research company Euro-monitor International.

Euro-monitor’s report, “Top 100 City Destinations 2018,” was first published by Bloomberg and it covers over 600 cities worldwide, measuring international arrivals.

The report says that international arrivals in the Holy City grew by 32 percent in 2017 and the numbers are expected to grow by 38 percent in 2018 to 4.8 million arrivals by the end of the year, due to “relative stability and a strong marketing push.”

The Euro-monitor report named Jerusalem among four cities to watch, alongside Mumbai, Osaka, and Portugal’s Porto.

Asian cities accounted for 41 out of the top 100 cities in the report with those in the Middle East and Africa going down in rankings due to instability, violence, and terrorism, although Egypt’s Cairo has seen a rebound in tourism.

The top city destination is Hong Kong, followed by Bangkok, London, Singapore, and Macau. Paris, Dubai, New York City, Kuala Lumpur, and Shenzhen bagged the top 10 most popular spots, all with a “registered average 3.9 percent growth” between 2012 and 2017.
