{"id":14803,"date":"2020-11-05T13:31:05","date_gmt":"2020-11-05T10:31:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.tourismworld-seyaha.com\/?p=14803"},"modified":"2020-11-05T13:31:05","modified_gmt":"2020-11-05T10:31:05","slug":"u-s-election-markets-rattled-investors-urged-to-sit-tight-for-now","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.tourismworld-seyaha.com\/?p=14803","title":{"rendered":"U.S. election: markets rattled, investors urged to sit tight \u2013 for now"},"content":{"rendered":"<h4><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-14804 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.tourismworld-seyaha.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/election-markets.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"259\" height=\"194\" \/><\/h4>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: left;\">Global markets will be wildly rattled by the uncertainty of the U.S. presidential election and investors should \u201csit tight and not reposition \u2013 yet\u201d, warns the CEO of one of the world\u2019s largest independent financial advisory organizations.<\/p>\n<p>The warning from Nigel Green, chief executive and founder of deVere Group comes as President Trump has claimed victory \u2013 before all votes have been counted, branded the election a \u2018major fraud on the American public\u2019 and demanded no more votes be counted.<\/p>\n<p>Mr Green says: \u201cPresident Trump has falsely claimed that he won the 2020 presidential election \u2013 one of the most consequential in history &#8211; early on Wednesday morning.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis means the outcome will be contested by the Democrats and will probably end up in a complex battle in the courts \u2013 and also most likely on the streets of America too.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis monumental uncertainty in the world\u2019s biggest economy is going to send global stock markets into a tailspin as investors get rattled about a clear outcome taking longer to reach than they hoped.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA chaotic contested outcome is exactly what the markets did not want.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He continues: \u201cThe election is down to the wire and the final result will shape global financial markets for years to come.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd with both candidates having wildly different agendas on everything from<br \/>\ntaxes, infrastructure spending, tech regulation, energy and stimulus to prop-up the economy, investors are urged to sit tight and not reposition portfolios \u2013 at least not yet.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Mr Green notes that sectors likely to do well under a Biden administration include renewables, industrials and cyclical stocks.<\/p>\n<p>Another four years of Trump would benefit the oil and gas, financial and healthcare sectors, amongst others.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe markets had priced-in a Biden victory and ultimately they may still be right \u2013 but it\u2019s going to get messy first.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The deVere CEO concludes: \u201cHistory shows stocks tend to rise regardless of which party controls the White House, but it matters how your portfolio is balanced.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTherefore, investors should sit out the temporary volatility until the picture becomes clear.\u201d<\/h4>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Global markets will be wildly rattled by the uncertainty of the U.S. presidential election and investors should \u201csit tight and not reposition \u2013 yet\u201d, warns the CEO of one of the world\u2019s largest independent financial advisory organizations.
