{"id":3524,"date":"2015-06-29T11:04:49","date_gmt":"2015-06-29T08:04:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/tourism.plus4d.com\/2015\/06\/29\/chief-helal-saeed-almarri-russian-visitors-to-dubai-are-expected-to-return-in-2015\/"},"modified":"2015-06-29T11:04:49","modified_gmt":"2015-06-29T08:04:49","slug":"chief-helal-saeed-almarri-russian-visitors-to-dubai-are-expected-to-return-in-2015","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.tourismworld-seyaha.com\/?p=3524","title":{"rendered":"chief Helal Saeed Almarri:-Russian visitors to Dubai are expected to return in 2015"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"direction: ltr;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Russian visitors to Dubai are expected to return in 2015 following a huge drop in 2014, according to Dubai\u2019s tourism chief Helal Saeed Almarri.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"direction: ltr;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Speaking to Hotelier Middle East, the director-general of Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) said he expected the return by the third quarter after the drop off caused by the weakness of the rouble.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"direction: ltr;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">The Dubai Annual Visitor Report showed that Russian visitor numbers to the emirate decreased by 23.5% in 2014, compared to 2013 figures.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"direction: ltr;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">\u201cI would expect 2015 to be more of a stabilisation year with Russia, so I think by the third quarter we will have seen most of the readjustment from that market,\u201d he asserted.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"direction: ltr;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">\u201cWe already saw it last year in the second half, so in the second half of this year we wouldn\u2019t expect it to fall much further.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"direction: ltr;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Almarri added that the Chinese market had helped in offsetting the Russian drop off.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"direction: ltr;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">\u201cIn China we have more offices than any other country and more people working there from any other country,\u201d he told the magazine.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"direction: ltr;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">\u201cWe have one of the highest spends worldwide in terms of marketing dollars, we have dedicated Chinese websites and dedicated Chinese content.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"direction: ltr;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">\u201cWe invest in a lot of these people bring tour guides from China and in training these tour guides. We work with the industry to ensure there are Chinese speaking guests.
