Turkish Airlines adds another Southeast Asian capital

1٬320

WTTEN-Turkish Airlines has continued to expand its operations in Southeast Asia with the launch of flights to Hanoi, the capital city of Vietnam.

The national carrier’s inaugural Hanoi flight took off from Istanbul’s Ataturk International Airport on Monday 27 June 2016, and Turkish will now serve the route five times a week with a stop in Ho Chi Minh City.

Every Monday and Wednesday, flights will depart Istanbul at 0220 and arrive in Hanoi’s Noi Ba International Airport at 1520. The aircraft will then depart Hanoi at 1650 and continues to HCMC, arriving at 1855. It then flies direct from HCMC to Istanbul, with flights leaving at 2025 and arriving back in Turkey at 0415 the next morning.

The routing will then be reversed every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, with flights departing Istanbul at the same time (0220) and arriving in HCMC at 1620. The aircraft then takes off again at 1750 and reaches Hanoi at 1955. On the return leg, flights will leave Hanoi at 2125 and arrive back in Istanbul at 0405 the next day.

This routing allows the airline not only to take advantage of long-haul traffic, but also to serve the high-demand domestic market between Vietnam’s two largest cities. Turkish will operate the route using its two-class Airbus A330-300 aircraft.

Hanoi will become the sixth Southeast Asian capital city served by Turkish Airlines, following Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur, Manila, Bangkok and Singapore.
